HR Coordinator

Reports To: Executive Management Team
 

Summary of Position

This position will perform a wide range of administrative activities for the organization to facilitate the efficient operation of the HR Department. This is an hourly, non-exempt, part-time (15-20 hours per week) position.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages all pre-employment activities including; offer letters, background checks, new hire paperwork, and new hire notifications
  • Prepares payroll for processing
  • Manages all HR administrative duties including completing relevant forms to hire and exit employees
  • Prepares and maintains digital employee human resource files, records, and information including personnel files, performance, workers compensation files, etc.
  • Responds to employment verification requests
  • Prepares and delivers termination paperwork, including coordination of all off-boarding activities (Payroll, disconnection of resources and any draft employee documents as requested)
  • Ensures the organization is compliant with all federal, state and city employment laws
  • Coordinate Team Events
  • Update organizational chart as needed
  • Update employee emergency contact list
  • Assist Manager with onboarding and offboarding of employees
  • Post open positions on job boards
  • Screen applicants
  • Assist with recruitment and the interview/follow-up process of candidates
  • Birthday/Anniversary Announcements
  • Assists with other HR duties as assigned

 

Preferred Requirements
  • 5+ years of working experience
  • Proven interviewing and sourcing skills
  • Proficiency in Asana and Slack

 

Education, Skill & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience
  • Proficient knowledge of federal and CA state employment laws (multi-state is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of Google Suite, MS Office
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of employee information
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to follow-up and follow through without having to be reminded
  • Exceptional project management/prioritization skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally without significant supervision and within timelines
  • A self-starter who takes initiative without being asked and has a strong sense of urgency
  • Results-oriented
  • Flexible and adaptable to change with little notice
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a go-getter mentality
  • Comfortable with juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure and short deadlines
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, ‘one team’ environment and has personal accountability/impact
  • Affinity/Interest/Curiosity in the fitness/supplement industry
    Possess a current driver’s license
