BMI Calculator

A BMI calculator is a useful tool to determine a healthy weight. And while many people will use one of these body mass measuring methods only to find out that they are in a normal range, many others are surprised to find out that they are overweight, obese or underweight.

For your convenience, we have included a body mass index calculator here that will give your body mass assessment.

For those who use a BMI calculator and find they are overweight, a weight loss product like Vintage Burn™ from Old School Labs™ of California would be ideal. This is a natural weight-loss supplement which also preserves muscle during dieting to maximize weight loss.

For those who use a BMI chart for men and find they are underweight, Vintage Build™ (also from Old School Labs™), has natural ingredients that will add lean muscle mass and preserve existing muscle. Vintage Build has 3 important main ingredients – BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids), Creatine Monohydrate, and L-Glutamine, and these are key ingredients recognized by bodybuilders as efficient, natural ingredients to increase muscle mass.

If you use a BMI calculator for men chart and you find that you are a normal weight, but are looking to use supplements to get in better shape, you have two options. You can use a supplement like Vintage Burn™, which will help you lose fat while you preserve your existing muscle – or, a supplement like Vintage Build™ will help you increase muscle mass in combination with weight training.

Are These Calculations Accurate?

One of the observations about BMI calculators is that since the measurements go by your weight and height, many athletes fit into the obese category, which is why a BMI calculator for men with muscle may not be an accurate assessment to determine an ideal weight for men. But what you have to remember is that this way of assessment was not designed for professional athletes, but rather, the general population who works in an office and doesn’t have the chance to watch everything they eat or train as regularly as they would like, making this method of measuring an ideal weight calculator men.

So by using a tool that will measure your body shape and then put you into a weight category is more like a personal wake-up call than it is a judgment from a cold and unfeeling chart. Another complaint about these weight measuring tools is that they can’t measure bone density and muscle density versus fat density. However, many of us personally know when the last time we worked out and ate healthy on a truly regular basis was. If it has been a long time and you know that you have an excess amount of fat when you look in the mirror, the BMI calculators are simply good to help set your starting point.

If you do fall into a category on a body mass index chart that you don’t like and want to change, supplements will help speed up the process. It just depends on where you fall and how you want to change. For example, there aren’t many guys who want to fall into the ‘underweight category.’ The first thing they may do is start lifting weights to gain muscle mass, but instead of a high calorie diet, they would be better off with a muscle builder that doesn’t add bulk like Vintage Build™. On the other side of the coin, someone who needs to lose weight or reduce their body fat but still preserve muscle would see faster results with a supplement like Vintage Burn™.

Do BMI Calculators Really Work?

Since BMI Calculators, or Body Mass Index Calculators were invented about 200 years ago, there is some controversy that they may be outdated. BMI calculators, which were originally developed by a 19th century Belgian by the name of Lambert Adolphe Jacques Quetele, were designed so that the government could assess the fitness levels of an increasingly sedentary and over-eating population (sounds familiar?). Since Quetele was a mathematician, modern-day critics claim that there is no humanity in the process of calling someone obese, and that if someone is simply larger in proportions or holding on to a lot of muscle, they may not actually be overweight.

While all of this may be true to some extent, the fact still remains that BMI calculators are a good starting place for anyone who wants to assess their body weight and make a decision as to how they want to proceed if they want to be more physically fit.

One of the other observations about BMI calculators is that since the measurements go by your weight and height, many athletes fit into the obese category, when they actually have little or no body fat. But what you have to remember is that this way of assessment was not designed for professional athletes, but rather, the general population who works in an office and doesn’t have the chance to watch everything they eat or train as regularly as they would like. In fact, it was specifically designed for people who work full-time, have family obligations, and are generally running around all day without any time or energy to eat right or exercise.

So by using a tool that will measure your body shape and then put you into a weight category is more like a personal wake-up call than it is a judgment from a cold and unfeeling chart. Another complaint about the BMI calculators is that they can’t measure bone density and muscle density versus fat density. However, many of us personally know when the last time we worked out and ate healthy on a truly regular basis was. If it has been a long time and you know that you have an excess amount of fat when you look in the mirror, the BMI calculators are simply good to help set your starting point.

Another critique of this way of measuring body shape is that you may fall into the middle of a category, or you may be just one decimal point away from overweight or obese. Meaning that the cut-off points on the charts are harsh and hypercritical.

But think about it this way, because this has happened to everyone. Think about the morning you went to put on your favorite pair of pants. They fit fine last week, but today you can’t quite button them up today. What happened? Maybe you just went the one decimal point down into the next category on the BMI calculators.

It Can Happen To Anyone

It sounds really awful, but everyone who has a full-time career and family obligations will experience this. Gaining weight happens very gradually and it all of a sudden catches up with you, sometimes before a holiday, a reunion, or a family event like a wedding when people might feel self-conscious.

That is why it is important to have an independent assessment of your BMI and your body fat percentage if you think that you are reaching a point where you are becoming overweight. Let’s face it – your friends and family might not say anything until it is too late. And the great thing about BMI calculators is that they are private. All you need is a scale and measuring tape and a computer and you can do the calculations in a few moments. That’s an added and real value of these body shape and fat-assessing computer apps. After you get your results, no one even has to know that you are cutting back on calories. If you join a gym, that may be another story, but we sure recommend it if you haven’t yet.

As well, if you do fall into a category on a body mass index chart that you don’t like and want to change, supplements will help speed up the process.
